I can't tell you how many anglers a year that I watch struggle with line management. This truly is a great system. Just move it with the wind direction or the angler's casting direction. I've used a casting bucket for many years, and found this to be more efficient. Great product!

Still figuring out optimal placement on skiff deck for different wind conditions. Seems to work best when it’s placed downwind and aft of the angler. Absolutely helped keep the stripped line out of the water (and trolling motor). The default unit is shipped with short and long fingers. Not sure what the optimal pattern is or why you wouldn’t want all long fingers. I may order some more long fingers.
Maybe the seller could include some suggestions for use. Pro tip: if you are fishing in a really wavy spot and occasionally taking a wave across the bow, keep a foot on the mat to prevent it being sluiced overboard. If a wave gets under the mat it’s going to slide overboard. I may attach a thin line with a crab float on the end to prevent losing the mat in combat conditions.

It was absolutely great on the first day until it flew out of the boat and sank but my angler has purchased me a new one just waiting for it to arrive

The absolute best fly line mat on the market. What a difference maker this is on windy days and calm days alike. Almost can’t fish without it, I’m HOOKED!

First live action test of both the large and small units and very pleased. Quality stands out for sure and large one worked very well actually giving a bigger area to capture the line. The plus was I am trying the small one on the poling platform. I had a fly rod up there for backup of my buddy on the casting platform. Has great potential up there as well and never in the way. And it has slots built in that helped secure it. Well fine!

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He absolutely loved it! And it’s much more comfortable on the boat when his line isn’t getting tied up anymore, especially around the dogs.

I used this mat with a guide friend of mine and it is perfect for stacking line and keeping it tended in windy or calm situations. Don’t rely on your boat mate. I purchased this as a Christmas gift for another guide friend and we will be using it very soon.

Works really well. With lots of entry level Flyfisherman on the bow none seem to have any issue with line lifting from the mat. Easy to stow no silly looking spikes mounted around the bow. Works as it should.

Mat works great on my skiff. I use my Yeti cooler to stand on while on the front deck with my mat off to the stripping side. Helps keep the line in the boat especially on windier days. The mat and pegs are much more flexible than other mats I’ve use and don’t hurt your feet if you step on it. My only complaint is that installing the pegs in the mat is not all that intuitive, you feel like you are going to rip the mat or the pegs pulling the pegs through but you don’t. Maybe an on-line video showing the correct method? Great product!

Initial impressions are excellent. Really easy to put together and take apart and Stow. The silicone seems really high-quality Eager to get a full season out of it
